Laurel Swift teaching and here's a message to her Monday eve group, (more tunes, info, notation on ealingsessions.wordpress.com): 'Pwt Ar Y Bys - Buttered Peas as a 3/2 or 9/8 which I learnt from Ceri Rhys Matthews last week. Great flute player and Welsh language singer if you want to look him up. You can have fun spotting how it got from the polka we learnt last year to this!'

Great lilt to the tune, lovely playing 🤩

8 years and 10 likes seems ungrateful, thank you and I enjoyed playing along with you, we dance Jack's Maggot in our Folk Dance class.
Just saw this. Martin and I weren't in Red Shift, but they did do the tune, slowed it down, and changed the key. Don't know where you got the second part from, ours has a lot more notes.
P Tap in 2.
I have my own RUclips channel The link is dAnne Corrigan
This fella,Percy would have been the man for this tune ruclips.net/video/5HjRUA4qFcQ/видео.html

oh yoeah mr krabs
love it ❣
Very Good...nicely in tune! Would love to hear when you move onto the next level…shorter bows played a little faster so we can all dance...you have mastered the first rule of fiddle playing… “If you can play it slow, you can play it fast.”
" And fine upon the virginals is that gay Lady's touch. And sweet her voice unto the lute, you'll scarce hear any such; But is it ' 𝘖 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘢 !' she sings in dulcet tone ? Or ' 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳 ?' - Ah, no ! - it's ' 𝘉𝘰𝘣𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘑𝘰𝘢𝘯 !' " - quoted from "𝘕𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘬 - 𝘈 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 '𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺' - 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨'𝘴 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳'𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺". The Ingoldsby Legends, 1870.

Hey Nigel! Aw ta! Sorry for mislearning your lovely tune - I learnt it off Saul Rose & Random, totally love their way of playing it, I rush it a little bit here... oops. Glad it sticks though. Great tune, love the tonality and the key change. Can never decide if I like the A to B or the B to A best! Laurel xx
Laurel Swift hey laurel, i dont have many bowed string versions of Halsway, hint hint, go on have a bash for me, you'd be version 137 on the list, (i'll add you to the fb halsway tune page if you like and you'll see the full list)
Great way to learn a tune, thank you.
Awww... This looks like so much fun..!!
This is awesome. Thanks so much.
I love this jig! Nice use of double stops in there.
3/4 hornpipe? How on earth does she count it in three? It's based on a gavotte, so it's in 2...
You guys are so good!
I just love this video. I can't stop watching it. Now you have a fan in Brazil. Congradulations!

Sounds great - one of my favourite tunes!
Have a look at Dave Townsend's English Dance Music Book 2 - it's in 'G' there. I'm trying to get the hang of both the violin and a piano acordion at the moment and found some great tunes in it.
